WHO, WHAT, WHEN, WHERE? WHAT IS PEACE LOVE & VANS?
Peace Love & Vans (formerly other, “illegal” names) is a one-of-a-kind van festival! Imagine hundreds of vans in a beautiful, natural setting, with thousands of like-minded adventurous people coming together to form a utopian van village for a weekend. Then throw in an industry expo, contests, raffles/sweepstakes, awesome live music and a Tiki bar!
We started Peace Love & Vans in 2023 in Florida and now host annual events in Florida, in Colorado in 2026, and other places on the radar.
When does the event run?
Please check out our overview page for complete details on dates and more!
Is PLV returning to Colorado / Hummingbird Ranch in the future?
Lots of folks in our community are wondering if PLV will be returning to Hummingbird Ranch in 2027. Unfortunately, the answer is no.
If you were with us in Colorado, you experienced how epic the festival was! But, behind the scenes it was ridiculously difficult. The entire year-long process was harder than anyone expected – from our first site visit to the insanity of the setup process that included negotiating with an unwelcoming local government (somewhat reasonable given their history with a much larger Sonic Bloom in their back yards), working through concerns with neighbors, hunting down the very small handful of vendors able to service such a remote location and fighting nature. Producing PLV at Hummingbird Ranch took small miracles, over and over again. To their credit, after some folks from local government attended the event and experienced what our community is all about, they seemed to have changed their tune. But, that wasn’t the main problem.
What our month-long residency at the ranch also taught us is that the area is simply too hostile for an event like PLV. We all got lucky during the festival weekend, but along the way we saw hurricane-force winds, small tornados, snow, hailstorms, blazing heat, dust storms and rains that turned the entire site into thick mud. Then, a week after we wrapped, the 7th largest wildfire in Colorado history tore through the region, coming close enough to nearly require evacuation of the area around the ranch!
We’re grateful we all came together at such a beautiful place in 2026 since Hummingbird Ranch gave us some unforgettable moments but we can’t expect miracles every year! So, we made the difficult decision not to return.
Meanwhile we’re ready to point our vans toward a new venue and we’d love to hear your thoughts on where PLV should head next! Take our quick survey.
DO I need to buy a separate ticket to attend the music?
No! Every camping ticket includes all scheduled activities, including the awesome live music line-up! For day pass ticket holders, please review the schedule of events to verify what activities fall within your pass hours. See the event-specific schedule for hours.
Do I need to sign a waiver?
Yes. Every adult (18+) must complete a digital liability waiver before entering the event. You’ll receive the waiver link via email after purchasing your ticket. The waiver takes 2-3 minutes to complete and covers assumption of risk, release of liability, and event rules.
Parents/guardians must also complete the waiver and sign on behalf of any minors (under 18) attending.
You can complete the waiver anytime before arrival, or at the gate (though completing in advance speeds up check-in for you and everyone else).
You’ll be emailed a copy of your waiver after completing it. You do NOT need to have this confirmation with you when you arrive. Instead, our welcome team can find your completed waiver with your name or email address. You will need a photo ID that matches the information on the waiver.
ABOUT THE CAMPGROUNDS - FLORIDA
There are many types of weekend camping tickets. Please see our ticketing pages for more details.
When you arrive you’ll need to provide the welcome team with your name and ID so they can confirm that you completed a waiver for everyone in your party. They will look up your submission on their tablets – no need to print the confirmation or have any screenshots. Then you’ll need your PDF ticket(s) (digital or printed) which will show which type of campground ticket you purchased and any add-ons (i.e.: early arrival, extra pets, etc.). You’ll be provided a welcome folder full of goodies that includes a camping permit on the front as well as wristbands for your group and pets. You’ll show the camping permit on the folder to our ushers and they’ll guide you into your campground.
You can see the location of the various campgrounds on our maps:
The Groovy Grove is the main campground where most weekend pass attendees will be camping. It’s a grassy field with a few trees spread around. There are no hookups in this camping area. We’ll be arranging rigs into “rows” and “streets” and parking so that van slider doors face each other. Note that you must be in this campground or the Chillvillle campground to participate in OpenVan tours and the DIY Build Contest (see location-specific schedule pages for more info). Rigs are limited to 24 feet (including vehicle and any towed items) in this campground. You will not be assigned specific sites. If you would like to park near/next to friends, we recommend that you meet up outside of the park and drive in together so that you end up being parked next to each other. Trailers of any kind are not permitted in this campground and yes, this includes towed vehicles – anything that is not part of the main vehicle. Quiet generators are allowed in accordance with our generator policy.
Chillville is located on the northern edge of the village site. It’s just far enough away from the main activities that it’s a little more quiet and chill. Like the other campgrounds, it’s a grassy area where rigs will be parked into rows that form streets. Chillville also allows rigs over 24 feet long or rigs with towed items. If you would like to park near/next to friends, we recommend that you meet up outside of the park and drive in together so that you end up being parked next to each other. This campground is only for bigger rigs and space is limited so please do not purchase this ticket if you have a smaller van. Note that you must be in this campground or the Groovy Grove campground to participate in OpenVan tours and the DIY Build Contest (see location-specific schedule pages for more info). Quiet generators are allowed in accordance with our generator policy.
The Connected Camp is on the far side of the grassy field, west of the Groovy Groove and behind the main stage, and, of course, has hook-ups (water and 15 amp or 30 amp electric)! This campground allows for rigs up to 45′ in length. Generators are not allowed, instead, you’ll have a power hookup.
The RV Forest is a wooded and secluded campground across Shakedown Street from the exhibitors. If you purchased a premium, RV Forest ticket you have been assigned a specific spot in this campground and will be given the RV Forest camping permit. RV Forest has a small bathroom with a hot shower. You’ll be provided the door code for this facility. Please see ticketing page for details. Generators are not allowed, instead you’ll have a power hookup.
Tent campers: There are no official tent sites. Let us know if you have questions around this.
Generator Policy
This FAQ applies to campgrounds/areas that allow generators. Please see the information about the specific campgrounds on the camping ticketing page for the event in the “about this campground” section.
Quiet generators are allowed (defined by generating 60dB or less when measured at a distance of 20 feet) between the hours of 10am and 6pm. During these hours, please limit the use of your generator to a maximum continuous run time of 4 hours.
Can I Combine A Tent/Other Structure With My Van/RV If They All Fit In Allocated Space?
No, we only allow one “camping structure” per camping ticket/spot. It wouldn’t be fair to other campers (or to the festival organizers) if some campers were able to essentially double their ticket’s value. However, we include two adults (and one pet) in each camping ticket (additional attendee add-on tickets are available). So, you can squeeze as many folks into your camper/rig as you are comfortable with but you cannot combine camping methods/structures. For instance, if you arrive in a van for camping, you cannot add a tent to make additional space for CAMPING – even if it fits into your allocated space/length that is based on your campground choice – for instance, up to 24′ in total length for the Groovy Grove campgrounds. In contrast, adding an “easy-up tent” or other structure for extra living space or shade is fine as long as you DO NOT have anyone camping in that space. We typically allow for up to 10′ of awning/tent space adjacent to your rig (often placed by the van slider door). Please see the ticketing page/other FAQs for length restrictions.
Wait Times for Campers Arriving on Friday & Early Arrival Add-On for Thursday
Please see our complete schedule for the Florida festival.
If you arrive earlier in the day on Friday you will have an approximately 1-hour wait in line. Imagine 600+ vans coming into the site at once! Even though our event and team are extremely organized, we can’t work miracles.
So, you do NOT want to wait in a long line to get into the site, we recommend you either arrive later on Friday (after 2-3pm) or consider purchasing this early arrival add-on ticket (see camping ticket pages for Florida). While there still may be a line, it will likely be shorter because many people cannot arrive on Thursday. We’re also limiting the number of these early arrival add-on.
What if I have a medical emergency?
These events are held in remote areas, potentially thirty (30) minutes or more from the nearest hospital or emergency medical facility. In the event of a serious injury, the on-site team’s primary role is to coordinate with local emergency services.
We will have unpaid volunteers available to provide basic first aid only. Peace Love Vans does NOT provide a licensed medical clinic, advanced life support (ALS), or professional medical diagnosis.
Where can I take trash (other than the trash cans around the site)?
If you have larger trash items or trash bags, we ask that you do NOT put them in the small trash cans around the village and instead, bring them to the dumpster(s) near the dump station on the Village Map.
Will there be tours of vans? Can I exhibit mine?
Yes! Our festivals are probably the best place in the world to check out campervans! You’ll see commercial class-B RVs, professional builds and hundreds of DIY conversions. We typically have over 600 vans at each event. Check out our photos/video page to see some examples of past events.
Is there WIFI Available? What about cell data service?
We will have WIFI for our event staff only so you’ll need to rely on your own internet connection such as WIFI or mobile data from your wireless provider. The site is rural so there is very limited connectivity to cell towers which are designed for the local population which is quite small. Stated another way, the cell towers tend to get overwhelmed in the area during the event since we have thousands of people attending. If you need internet connectivity, we recommend using something like Starlink.
Information & Requirements for Fires/Solo Stoves/Grills
Normally, open fires are NOT allowed in the open field where we create our van village campgrounds. This information EXCLUDES the RV Forest tickets where fires are allowed.
However, the Pasco County Fire & Parks Departments have graciously authorized the use of “solo stoves”, BBQ grills, and similar items but you must have a CERTIFIED 2-A:10-B:C fire extinguisher. Importantly, a brand-new fire extinguisher is NOT certified, you must have a professional company certify it (take to a fire extinguisher inspection company and have it inspected and tagged).
We will have arranged to have certified fire extinguishers for rent by purchasing the $50 add-on ticket or you can bring your own. If you want to rent a certified fire extinguisher, you MUST purchase the add-on ticket at least 1 week before the event. We will be removing this option at that time so we can coordinate with the provider of the units. We will not have extra fire extinguishers for rent at the event. The Fire Department will be there issuing citations to anyone who has an open fire without a certified 2-A:10-B:C fire extinguisher.
Note, that this only pertains to open flames OUTSIDE of your rig. A cooktop, etc. inside your rig does not require a certified fire extinguisher. Any propane device that produces an open flame (outside the vehicle) is not permitted without a CERTIFIED 2-A:10-B:C fire extinguisher. Open flames inside the vehicle are permitted without a CERTIFIED 2-A:10-B:C fire extinguisher, (but it is good practice to have a fire extinguisher in your rig at all times.) We will have a few campfires each evening in the Leafy Lounge and you can also bring your own “solo stove” or BBQ grill to the lounge WITHOUT the need for a certified fire extinguisher.
The Pasco County Fire Department can make inspections at any time and fines will be issued to anyone who is not in compliance.
Can I sell My Van/Rig at Peace Love & Vans?
Sure, you’re welcome to advertise your rig for sale at your campground!
Professional van builders and campers of any kind cannot solicit, sell or vend in the campgrounds. You must be an authorized exhibitor in the designated exhibitor area. Imagine getting to your spot in the campground and the person parked next to you opens up a shop or selling vans and your campsite turns into a commercial area….not cool.
Tickets are Sold Out - What Options Do I Have - Is there a Waiting List?
Yes there is a waiting list and you can join for camping tickets:
We will be opening camping passes to those registered on the waiting list as we receive cancellations (see our REFUND POLICY below).
Also, during the event, if there is available space because campers did not come, we will open up pro-rated camping tickets to day pass ticket holders after 4pm on Saturday and Sunday. These camping tickets are based on availability, on a first come, first serve basis and are not guaranteed. For instance, if everyone shows up, we cannot release any additional camping tickets. These tickets must be purchased on-site at the Vanlife Outfitters Pavilion.
If you are a member (camping ticket alumni or current camping ticketholder), you can also try buying a ticket in the official Peace Love & Vans Vibe Tribe Facebook Group. Please insist that the seller follow our ticket transfer process when buying a ticket to protect yourself from fraud.
Can I transfer my ticket to another campground?
Yes, you can request to transfer your ticket to a different campground, provided there is availability.
The ticket transfer is subject to a $25 administrative fee. This fee helps us cover the costs associated with updating our records and reissuing your ticket.
Transfers are not available the last week (7-days) prior to the event.
In some cases, where the new campground has less expensive ticketing, there will be a credit that we’ll refund to your credit card if possible or, if not, we’ll ask for you to provide a mailing address to send a refund check. In other cases, when the new campground has more expensive tickets, we’ll provide a payment link for the balance due.
Please email us if you’d like to check on the availability of space in the campground you’re interested in and we’ll guide you through the process.
Can I transfer my ticket to another person/party?
Yes, you can request to transfer your ticket to another person/party. There is a $15 fee for this service that covers our team’s administrative overhead. Ticket transfers are NOT possible when there are 7 or less days prior to the event start date.
To initiate a transfer, please click here and checkout (DO NOT purchase unless it’s at least 7 days prior to the event) to pay the administrative fee. Once we receive the paid order, we will follow up with you to get the name, email address and physical address for the person you are transferring the ticket to. Alternatively, you can include this information in the “notes” when placing the order for the transfer.
Once the transfer is complete, we will send an email confirmation to the person that the ticket was transferred to and notify you that the transfer is complete.
Often our camping tickets sell out and people join our waitlists (see other FAQ about that). If you want to sell your ticket to someone who is on the waitlist, please let us know and we’ll do our best to match you with someone who wants a ticket by providing folks on the waitlist your contact information via our emails to that list. If you find a match use the link above to initiate a transfer.
Please note that we are not involved in the value exchange for the ticket. So, it’s up to you as the original ticketholder customer to arrange any payment or compensation for the ticket before you request transfer. This service is intended to help our attendees and community. It is NOT intended to enable sellers to make a profit. If you are reselling your ticket PLEASE do not sell it for more than the original price you paid plus the transfer fee.
Are there any exceptions to your no refunds policy?
While our official policy is that we don’t offer refunds on tickets, there are some cases where we are able to make exceptions. We try to be as helpful and accommodating as possible while making sure that the event is successful for all attendees. These exceptions include extreme hardship or when there is adequate time to resell a cancelled ticket to others on our wait lists.
In those cases, refunds are subject to a 20% cancellation fee which covers a) credit card processing fees that are not refunded to us as the merchant, b) administrative overhead and coordination and c) the ticketing fee charged at the time of purchase.
Transfers: alternatively, you can sell or give away our ticket to another person/party for a fee. Please read the “Can I transfer my ticket to another person/party?” FAQ for more information. Often our camping tickets sell out and people join our waitlists (see FAQ about that). If you want to sell your ticket to someone who is on the waitlist, please let us know and we’ll do our best to match you with someone who wants a ticket. This involves providing your name and email address to those on the waitlist. Please be aware that we are not involved in the transaction to sell or provide your ticket to another party. Any payments/arrangements for that are between you and the other party.
If you are a member (camping ticket alumni or current camping ticketholder), the Vibe Tribe Facebook Group is a reputable place to buy or sell a ticket, but you should insist the seller use the ticket transfer process through Peace Love & Vans.
I NEVER GOT MY TICKET! HOW DO I DOWNLOAD MY TICKET?
If you don’t see a confirmation email from us (hello@peacelovevans.com) check your “spam” or “promotional” folder to make sure it didn’t get put in there. 99% of the people who email us that they didn’t get their ticket end up finding it in their email spam folder. You can email us if you still can’t find it and we’ll send it to you. However, we encourage you to do this as soon as possible as there may be delays after the Monday prior to the event when we start setting up. It can be printed or on your phone/mobile device, please have your ticket ready when you approach the welcome tent.
Please note that the ticket purchase confirmation email is NOT your ticket. Instead, there is a link to download your ticket in that email. The ticket itself is a PDF file that can be saved to your device/phone or printed. It The PDF ticket contains a QR code that is scanned by our welcome team. Here’s a link to an example ticket PDF from our 2025 event.
If you’re going to use your mobile device for the ticket, please DOWNLOAD the PDF to your phone in case there is spotty mobile data when you arrive. It’s a rural location with lots of people which can make mobile data connectivity slow.
Tickets can only be scanned once and the event team will be able to see when a ticket was scanned. So please be sure to only use a ticket once!
HOW CAN I GET IN TOUCH WITH YOU?
You can email us at hello@peacelovevans.com or call 941-216-5288.
WHY FLORIDA?
We love all things vanlife and we especially love the vanlife community. We really wanted to see an awesome vanlife event in Florida, and frankly, since no one else was doing it, we decided if we wanted someone to do a gathering in Florida it was up to us to welcome vanlifers to our home state of Florida. As far as we know, Peace Love & Vans was the first vanlife gathering in the state of Florida. With average temperatures in the mid 70’s and less than 1.5” of rain, February / March was the obvious choice for a vanlife gathering in Florida. Learn more on our about page or check out the schedule.
HOW DO I GET TO WITHLACOOCHEE RIVER PARK? (FLORIDA SITE)
The address to the park is 12449 Withlacoochee Blvd, Dade City, FL 33525. We highly recommend taking the north route into the park on River Road from downtown Dade City. You can use Google Maps to get yourself to the intersection of highway 98 and River Road. The south route to the park takes you on long stretch of Auton Road which is a dirt road that can be rough, dirty and potentially muddy. TAKE RIVER ROAD..DO NOT TAKE AUTON ROAD (we warned you!).
From I-75: exit 293 is the best exit. Google Maps may try to take you to exit 285, but we recommend exit 293 to avoid Auton Rd.
Coming from the north: take highway 98 south and then take a left onto River Road.
Coming from the south:
- Take highway 98 north and then take a right onto River Road.
- Stay on River Road for approximately 2.5 miles.
- At the three way junction of River Road and Sumner Lake Road, stay left to continue on River Road.
- Continue approximately 1.9 miles and then turn right onto onto Auton Road (this section is paved).
- Continue approximately .25 miles and then turn left into the Withlacoochee River Park (Withlacoochee Blvd). You will see our Peace Love & Vans sign at the entrance to the park.
DO I NEED TO HAVE A VAN TO ATTEND THE EVENT?
Definitely not! All types of rigs are welcome! We routinely have RVs, skoolies, small trailers and car campers.
Single-day-use tickets are also available for those who want to attend on Saturday or Sunday to be part of the fun and check out all of the van builds. Please read about the various campgrounds at each festival above.
I don't have a van, can I camp in my car?
Yes! Car camping is allowed in both Groovy Grove and Chillville, as long as your setup stays within the designated footprint of 24’ or less in total length.
You’ll have up to 10 feet of space on the passenger side of your vehicle for your tent, awning, or hangout area. Please make sure everything — your vehicle, shade structures, and gear — fits neatly within your assigned area so we can keep the vibes flowing and pathways clear.
WHAT IF I SHOW UP AT 6:01 PM ON FRIDAY FOR CAMPING?
The gates to the sites close sometime between 6 and 6:30 PM on Friday. If you are not inside the event entrance by 6:00 PM you may need to wait until 10:00 AM Saturday to enter.
CAN I LEAVE AT NIGHT TO GO INTO TOWN?
Florida: The event is inside Withlacoochee River Park. The park gates close between 6:30PM and 7:00 PM depending on the park. Once the gates close we cannot open them for entrants. We strongly suggest you get all the supplies needed before the event and enter the park. We can get the gates open for emergencies only but will need to involve park staff.
In all cases, use extreme caution when navigating the campgrounds and site. You are fully responsible for any damages or harm caused by your driving while attending the event. If you want help, please ask our team for ushering assistance by reaching out to a team member or visiting the Vanlife Outfitters Pavilion.
CAN I LEAVE EARLY ON SUNDAY?
While we don’t encourage leaving on Sunday, this is possible.
Use extreme caution when navigating the campgrounds and site. You are fully responsible for any damages or harm caused by your driving while attending the event. If you want help, please ask our team for ushering assistance by reaching out to a team member or visiting the Vanlife Outfitters Pavilion.
WHAT SPACE AM I ASSIGNED?
There is no assigned parking. Parking spaces for camping will be assigned in order of arrival at the event. Arriving early doesn’t really get you a better spot and all spaces are pretty much equal. When you check-in, our staff will direct you to the appropriate camping area based on the ticket you purchased.
If you would like to be parked near someone else, we recommend that you stage your group outside the event and all arrive at the same time so that you’ll be parked together when you are parked. Please refer to our schedule page for details. Arriving early will not get you a better spot! However, we do offer a limited number of Thursday early-arrival tickets.
HOW MUCH SPACE WILL I HAVE FOR MY VAN?
Van’s will be parked in “rows” that form “streets”. You’ll have about 5-6′ between vans (hood of your van to bumper of next van and visa versa). You’ll also have 10′ of space on the passenger side of your van for chairs/awnings, etc. Then there will be a wide “road area” between that and the next row. Your sliding door will open to the van “across the street” from you. The approximate distance between your sliding door and the sliding door of the van “across the street” – approximately 24 feet between sliding doors. On your driver’s side you’ll have about 4 feet from your van to your neighbor on your driver side’s van.
WHAT IF MY RIG IS 24′ BUT I HAVE A LADDER / BIKE RACK / HITCH / STORAGE BOX / SPARE TIRE?
As indicated on the ticketing pages and other FAQS…the total length including all accessories shall not exceed 24′ which includes all accessories, bike racks, etc.” If your rig and any accessories or towed items is 24 feet and 1 inch, please book a camping spot in Chillville. If you book in Groovy Grove and your footprint is over 24′, you will be moved to Chillville and charged the difference or you will be offered a refund and are free to leave. Unfortunately, this has come up in the past and we are not willing to make exceptions. Please note that the maximum length in Chillville is 45 feet.
WHAT ACCOMMODATIONS DO YOU HAVE FOR DISABILITIES OR THOSE WITH MOBILITY ISSUES?
To make the process as easy as possible for everyone, if you want a weekend camping pass, please purchase a Groovy Grove (or Chillville) camping ticket, or, if you want a day pass, please purchase a standard Saturday or Sunday day pass ticket.
Then, when you arrive at the event, please let the Welcome Team know that you have a mobility concern and you’d like to be parked or camped in the accessible area, and we’ll take care of that for you. Further, if you’d like a ride to an area of the village after arrival, please let the team know and we’ll call for a golf cart/UTV to transport you. We can only offer this upon first arrival.
CAN I BRING MY PET?
Yes, pets are welcome and one pet is included with each ticket. If you have more than one pet, you must purchase a pet add-on ticket during registration for each additional pet, and all pets must be leashed at all times during the event. There is a “Doggie Dumpstation” designated area shown on the site map (PDF) for “pet relief”.
You are responsible for maintaining control of your pets at all times. Please review the relevant pet sections of our terms and conditions.
IS THIS A FAMILY-FRIENDLY EVENT? DO CHILDREN NEED A TICKET?
Absolutely! All ages are welcome to attend the event. Please note that a ticket must be purchased for everyone attending, including children over 10 years old.
ARE THERE OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES AVAILABLE NEAR THE EVENT?
Most definitely!
In Florida, the Withlacoochee River Park offers hiking and biking trails, a river for paddling and floating activities, fishing (permit req.), and much more. Swimming is not allowed at Withlacoochee River Park, but there are numerous beaches, swimming holes and crystal-clear natural springs that allow swimming in the area. But, it’s Florida, kids. Beware of the gators!
WHAT IF IT’S RAINING?
The event will not be canceled due to weather. We had historic levels of rain in Florida in 2024 and the event went off without a hitch. Refunds will not be granted if you don’t have fun because it’s raining and no refunds will be given if you can’t attend the event. If the event is canceled or postponed for any reason you will be given the choice between a full refund or a credit toward a rescheduled event. While we cannot predict the future, there is an extremely low likelihood this event will ever be canceled.
If it’s raining or not, we still highly recommend taking the North route into the park on River Rd. from downtown Dade City. The South route to the park takes you on Auton Rd. which is a long dirt road that can be rough, dirty and potentially muddy. TAKE RIVER RD…DO NOT TAKE AUTON RD (we warned you!)
WILL THERE BE FOOD & ALCOHOL? WHAT ARE THE HOURS OF THE TIKI BAR?
Yes, there will be a few food trucks available for lunch and dinner and at least one food truck selling coffee and light morning food on Saturday and Sunday morning. Check out out the information on the schedule page for details.
There will also be a Tiki Bar in the Leafy Lounge selling a variety of drinks (including non-alcoholic).
On Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings, the event sponsors will host a happy hour in the Leafy Lounge. Camping ticket holders will be given one free drink ticket that they can redeem at the bar for a free drink. Please note this is one drink ticket per camping ticket – not per attendee.
You’re also welcome to bring your own food and beverages (including alcoholic beverages). We also encourage you to bring your own cups, plates, silverware and other utensils to minimize waste on-site during the event!
WHAT FOOD TRUCKS WILL BE AT THE EVENT?
We have made it our goal to support locally owned businesses as much as possible during Peace Love & Vans. We have also made a conscious effort to support minority-owned businesses whenever possible. We’ll be adding the names/details of food trucks that will be attending to the schedule page once we have that information.
ARE THERE PLACES TO EAT OR GET PROVISIONS NEARBY?
Dade City which has restaurants, grocery stores, gas stations, Publix, Walmart, hotels, restaurants, etc. is about 10 minutes away. The park gates close between 6:30PM and 7:00 PM depending on the park. Once the gates to the park close we cannot open them. We strongly suggest you get all the supplies needed before the event and entering the park. The Publix will deliver via Instacart usually to the event gate. Dade City has an excellent selection of shops and restaurants, but there is are slightly better options in Zephyrhills. For example, the Walmart in Zephyrhills is much better than the one in Dade City.
ARE THERE RESTROOMS/SHOWERS ON SITE?
Withlacoochee River Park (Florida) – There will be a few standard restrooms throughout the park but they are not near the camping field. We will have porta-potties and hand washing stations. If your rig has bathroom facilities, we recommend using that. There is also a water tank fill station and dump station on site that you’re welcome to use during the event (see below). There are showers in the RV Forest campground, but they are for RV Forest campers only. The park staff monitors the RV Forest Campground bathroom and if they catch anyone without an RV Forest camping permit using the showers, that person will be asked to leave the park and they will not be given a refund.
ARE THERE HOOKUPS, DUMP STATIONS, ETC ON SITE?
Please see information about the various campgrounds above to see which campgrounds offer electrical/water hookups. Usually, these tickets are sold out within the first month of tickets going on sale.
Vanlife Outfitters is sponsoring a free charging and water bottle fill station with filtered water between the expo area and the Groovy Grove campground along Shakedown Street (see village map).
There is a free dump station (more info on that below) and a water fill at the gathering. We recommend you fill up on water and dump your tanks before you arrive to avoid lines. There are no hookups at each camping spot unless you purchase a hookup add-on space or RV Forest Space.
There is a single dump station available for camper ticket holders across Big Ma Road from the Groovy Grove campground. There are over 500 vans coming to this event. Imagine the line if even 20% of those (100 vans) need ten minutes each to dump their tank…That’s going to be a long line. 100 vans x 10 minutes = 1,000 minutes = a 16 hour line!
DUMP STATION INFORMATION
We HIGHLY encourage you to dump your tanks PRIOR to arriving at the gathering for the weekend. Many apps, including iOverlander, can help you locate a dump station on your way.
Florida
Outside of Park/On The Way
There is a dump station at the Flying J located at the I-75 exit for our event (exit 285 / SR52). This Flying J has gas, diesel, propane, a truck wash and free potable water! Dumping is $10 and only $7.50 for Good Sam members. If you don’t want to wait in a line to dump at the event, we highly recommend stopping here. The GPS for the Flying J is: 28.32589, -82.32223 and the address is: 29933 State Rd 52, Dade City, FL 33576.
Dump Station at Peace Love & Vans Florida
Upon arrival: If you ABSOLUTELY must use the dump station at the park upon arrival please do so right after checking in. You’ll check in at the welcome tent and then drive up to our first usher. Let this usher know that you need to dump and they will route you to the dump station from behind. By accessing the dump station area from the backside, we can prevent any restriction to the traffic flow entering the gathering. Do not drive directly to the dump station without being guided by the usher team. After your dump, you can drive back to the ushers and they will help you get to your campsite.
During the gathering: the dump station will only be available for portable tanks such as cassette toilets or roll-away tanks. Dumping tanks attached to a vehicle is only allowed in emergency situations with staff approval and supervision.
If you need an emergency dumping with staff supervision: please find an staff member or go to the Vanlife Outfitters Pavilion. They will help you and make sure that someone on our team can safely guide you to the dump station and back to your spot.
After the event on Monday morning: you can queue up with other campers by driving up to the day pass parking area and then over to the dump station from “behind”. Do not access the dump station from Big Ma Road. *Again, there are 500 vans coming to this event. Imagine the line if even 1/3 of those (100 vans) need ten minutes each to dump their tank…That’s going to be a long line. We definitely recommend dumping elsewhere if you can.
WHAT SHOULD I BRING?
Along with the stuff you normally camp with, we recommend bringing the following:
- Folding/camping chairs and/or a blanket. Many of the activities will be on lawn areas so you’ll want to have a nice place to sit.
- Insect spray or other insect repellants.
- Flashlights/headlamps. The site of the event is in the woods so it has very limited artificial light.
- Plenty of food and beverage for the length of the event. You’re welcome to bring anything you wish to enjoy during the gathering and with all that we have planned, you probably won’t want to leave to go shopping!
- If you need ice (don’t have a refrigerator), be sure to bring plenty of ice.
- Costume! We’re encouraging folks to dress up in their grooviest 60’s and 70’s inspired clothes during Saturday night’s live music performance. But, there’s no reason you can’t be far out the entire time, right?
- Your own cup, plates, and silverware. We will be doing our best to eliminate waste and the use of disposable items.
- Sunblock, hats, sunglasses and other forms of sun protection (Florida in March is typically cool and sunny).
- Hiking gear and/or a bike if you want to explore the wide range of nature trails in the park.
- If you’re exhibiting your van in the OpenVan tours or entering it into the DIY Build Contest, we recommend that you to bring decorations and signage about your van that highlight its unique features to encourage people to take a tour and possibly vote for your rig in the contest! Please read the details on the event’s schedule page.
- Electric scooters, bikes, and one-wheels are permitted at low speeds (5 mph or slower) with extreme caution – class 1 and 2 E-bikes only, battery or gas-powered dirt bikes prohibited. All vehicles must have front and rear lights after dark. Please be mindful of pedestrians and other attendees. Operators assume all responsibility for safe usage. Mobility scooters are allowed with a valid handicap permit. Children under the age of 16 must wear a helmet as detailed in Florida statute 316.2065(3)(d).
WHAT SHOULDN’T I BRING?

WILL THERE BE ICE FOR SALE?
Yes, bags of ice will be for sale at the Vanlife Outfitters Pavilion. Ice is subject to availability. Please do not depend on our supply of ice!
CAN I BRING AN EXTRA CAR AND LEAVE IT SOMEWHERE OVERNIGHT? (ALSO, CAN MY FRIEND MEET ME AND LEAVE THEIR CAR SOMEWHERE OVERNIGHT?)
Sorry, No. The day pass lot is for day pass attendee parking only. We can’t accommodate extra cars.
If you have some members of your camping party arriving at a different time and in a different vehicle than the camping ticket holder, please email us at hello@peacelovevans.com for special arrangements.
I HAVE MEDICAL EQUIPMENT SUCH AS A CPAP MACHINE, WILL I BE ABLE TO PLUG IT IN?
Most of the camp sites do NOT include electrical connections/hookups. If you need electrical service for any medical equipment and don’t have that off-grid capability in your camping rig, be sure to read whether or not the campground you’re purchasing a ticket for has hookups on the camping tickets page (links below). Generators are NOT allowed at night. Please see our generators policy.
CAN I WORK ON VANS AT PEACE LOVE & VANS?
Unfortunately, we do not allow any kind of installation, modification or building at Peace Love & Vans. You’re more than welcome to discuss working on projects with other vanlifers, DIYers or Builders at a different location after the event, but installs or modifications during the event is not permitted. That includes you working on your own van or you working on someone else’s van or someone else working on your van.
CAN I SELL STUFF FROM MY VAN AT PEACE LOVE & VANS?
Unfortunately, it’s not fair to our paid sponsors and exhibitors for people who didn’t pay to be an official exhibitor/vendor (in the exhibitor/vendor area)…to sell at the event. It’s also not fair to campers to be solicited or have their neighbor soliciting when they are trying to relax and have fun at their campsite. We’ve made it very affordable to be an official exhibitor/vendor at the event. Anyone who is vending or soliciting at their van will be asked to stop, a second warning will result in ejection from the event without refund. Please see Terms & Conditions.
WHAT TIME CAN I ARRIVE?
Please see our schedule page for complete details.
ARE WE ALLOWED TO PLAY MUSIC?
Low-level music is allowed, but please consider those around you. Quiet time starts at 9pm in the campgrounds and will be enforced in the respect of others. Also, there will be live music at the Swingin’ Stage and Leafy Lounge on Friday Saturday and Sunday nights so please be respectful of those musicians.
Campers are welcome to play music from their campsite acoustically outside of quiet hours but amplified playing/performing is not allowed in the campgrounds. If you’re a musician and would like to play at the festival, please get in touch.
CAN I FLY A DRONE?
Sorry, drones are not allowed – any drones seen flying belong to media staff.
I DON’T LIKE LOUD NOISES, CAN I HAVE A “QUIET” SPOT?
Unfortunately, we are going to be very busy with organizing the event and it will be very difficult to make special concessions. Here are a few bits of information that might be useful for you.
Chillville is the quietest campground.
The later you arrive, the further away you will be from the PA system. If you like quiet, arrive closer to 6pm so that you’re parked in the farthest rows/roads from the main activity areas.
Please check the schedule pages for times when there will be live music.
IS THERE SOCIAL MEDIA FOR THE EVENT?
The official Instagram for Peace Love & Vans is @peacelovevans. The official hashtag for the event this year is #peacelovevans. You can see our other social media links at the bottom of very page.
AFTER CAMPING PASSES ARE SOLD OUT, IS THERE SOMEWHERE NEARBY I CAN CAMP?
We expect the camping passes to sell out (they have in all prior years), so below are some alternatives for people who want to camp in the vicinity. They can also search on apps like iOverlander, Sekr or Campendium (now RoadPass).
Lake Panasoffkee Wildlife Management Area (50 minutes)
Green Swamp West Tract
Upper Hillsborough Wildlife Management Area
SWFWMD Ashley Camp Ground
IF I WANT TO STAY A COUPLE EXTRA DAYS BEFORE OR AFTER THE EVENT HOW CAN I BOOK A CAMPSITE?
We have reserved the campground for two weeks prior to the event for setup. To avoid interruptions during the setup process, campsites are not available starting this period. If you would like to book an extended stay after the event, you can do so by visiting the Pasco County Parks Reservations portal and searching for Withlacoochee River Park.
CAN I WORK AT THE EVENT?
Please check out the “join the team” page.
Why Did You Eliminate the Birds of a Feather Campground?
We don’t like to look at it as eliminate the campground, we like to look at it as combining the Birds of A Feather Campground with Groovy Grove into all one big happy Groovy Grove Campground. Our reasoning is that every year, we get several unhappy campers complaining about not being able to camp in that campground due to it being sold out too quickly. It’s dozens of emails of unhappy campers and begging us to switch their tickets. Also, we’ve had issues with that specific campground having several “no-shows” (people who bought tickets, but didn’t show up). Lastly and most importantly, we’ve strived to create an environment that is more inclusive and less segmented overall. Everyone camping together in harmony has always been our ultimate goal and one of the most common things we hear at our event is “I was apprehensive about camping next to random strangers, but we all actually ended up becoming very close friends!” …obviously people are still welcome to stage their groups outside the park and all drive in together, but we’d like to create less segmentation overall if possible.
