JOIN THE TEAM

We’re looking for friendly, hard-working folks to join our production team. We have both paid and volunteer roles.

Volunteer Roles

• Great for those who want to be involved and help out while still having plenty of time to enjoy the festival.
• You’ll get to arrive early to the event site and get two extra nights of free camping – see details below.
• Shorter shifts with more flexibility and generally lower responsibilities.
• Minimum commitment of 2x, 4-hour shifts (8-hours total). At this level of support, you’ll receive a 50% refund of a Groovy Groove or Chillville camping ticket or up to a $95 refund on a more expensive ticket (i.e.: RV Forest or Connected Camp). Refund issued within 14 days after the festival end date to your original payment method.
• If you work 4x, 4-hour shifts or more (16-hours or more), you’ll receive a 100% refund of a Groovy Groove or Chillville camping ticket or up to a $185 refund on a more expensive ticket (i.e.: RV Forest or Connected Camp). Refund issued within 14 days after the festival end date to your original payment method.
• First aid team volunteers receive a free ticket in advance of the event with their commitment to work the shifts they agree to.

Paid Roles

• Paid roles require a higher commitment and responsibilities. You won’t have as much time to participate in the festival but you’ll be able to earn hourly compensation.
• Longer shifts ranging between 6-10 hours.
• You’ll get to arrive early to the event site and get two extra nights of free camping – see details below.
• Compensation:
  • If you have a camping ticket, for the first 8-hours worked, you’ll receive a 100% refund of a Groovy Groove or Chillville camping ticket or up to $185 refund on a more expensive ticket (i.e.: RV Forest or Connected Camp).  You must show on your time card the first 8 hrs worked with a note indicating free ticket. The remaining hrs will be paid at $18/hr. Refund issued within 14 days after the festival end date to your original payment method. 
  • If you do not have a camping ticket, the first 8-hours worked you’ll receive $18/hour as a 1099 independent contractor.
• For any additional hours worked, beyond the first 8, you’ll receive $18/hour as a 1099 independent contractor. You must indicate on your time card for the first 8 hrs that you did not have a ticket.
• Team leads will receive a complimentary camping ticket and earn the hourly paid rate for all hours worked.

Benefits, Requirements & Other important information

• You’ll have Peace Love & Vans (and the community’s) sincere gratitude for making the event possible!
• All team members get discounts at all the food trucks, on all merchandise and our Tiki Bar!
• We have jobs available during set up, during the weekend event itself and during our clean up after the event.
• Everyone working on the team is expected to have essential knowledge about the event in order to be able to answer attendee questions. This includes reading through our FAQs.
• ALL team members (volunteer or paid) must arrive on site between noon and 2pm on the Wednesday prior to the event start date to participate in our in-person training at 3pm.
• ALL team members must read our overview training document prior to arrival at the event site.
• Some teams will require you to attend an online/virtual pre-training session prior to the event setup window.
• You must have your assigned radio on your person, turned on, tuned to the correct channel and functioning during shifts to earn volunteer benefits or hourly compensation. If you cannot be reached on the radio or fail to charge correctly without contacting the event producers, those hours will be deducted from your total hours contributed.
• Everyone on the team who is camping onsite must have a camping ticket but refunds are available as described above.
• Paid roles, at the discretion of the event producers and may be cut early if the role isn’t needed during a particular time window or, conversely, maybe asked if they are willing to add shifts to cover busy times or fill-in for other team members. This especially applies to the welcome team and usher team roles.
• You must track your hours worked on a timesheet and provide this to our producers. We will check this against schedule so please indicate if you worked longer shifts than scheduled and who approved it.
